Welcome all parents and students.  I am very excited about continuing a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential.  It is my hope that as the year progresses you will get to know the staff, the programs, and the policies we offer at Forest Street School.

It is the goal of the staff at Forest to work with you to create a rich learning environment for all students. Student success is a shared responsibility between the school staff, students, and parents.

As we work with our students to help them learn about the world around them through the curriculum, we truly appreciate the support that parents give their children at home as they strive to achieve their educational goals. We ask that you guide and support your child's learning by ensuring that he/she:

                                          Our Parents    Our Parents

      1.    Attend school daily and arrive on time, ready for the day's learning experience.

      2.    Complete all homework assignments given by teachers.

      3.    Read daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills.

      4.    Share school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life.

      5.    Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject.

      6.    Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go on to college.

I feel privileged to have the opportunity to serve all Forest Street Community School students, and  I am committed to developing life-long learners and leaders!

Parent Engagement: Crucial Element of Successful Schools

Research shows that – at both the elementary and secondary level – when schools, parents, families, and communities work together, students:

      • Earn higher grades

      • Attend school more regularly

      • Staying in school

      • Are more motivated

It is our belief that a partnership, some understanding, and some expectations must exist between the school, parents, and the children in order for positive relationships and understandings to exist for the benefit of the children, parents, and the school, including its staff.
