Dear First Grade Families, 

Welcome to first grade! My name is Miss Susan Kiernan. This is my 25th year teaching young scholars and my ninth year in Orange. I attended Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, NJ. I received my Bachelor’s Degree with a duel major in Elementary Education and Urban Studies. I am currently working on my Masters in Elementary Mathematics. 

I hold very high expectations for my students. They are always to try their best and never give up. I will not allow them to waste any of their learning time, because by mid first grade they are expected to be independent learners.
